The Founders Christian School cross country program has been one of the school’s most successful programs. At the junior high level, the FCS cross country program has produced numerous district champions in both boys’ and girls’ divisions. In 2015 Founders Christian School added a freshman class, and the school’s inaugural varsity cross country season was afoot. In that season, with only a freshman class, the FCS varsity cross country program produced the men’s state runner-up in TAPPS Division A.

FCS Sophomore Finishes 9th at State Cross Country Meet
This weekend, the TAPPS 1A State Cross Country Meet
took place in Waco, TX.
Sara Baker, a sophomore at FCS, finished in 9th place
after competing with 1A's fastest 9-12th graders from
the state of Texas. Sara trained diligently all season long
and we are thrilled that her hard work has paid off.
Great job, Sara Baker and many thanks to Coach
Scott Bacher for his dedication to FCS Cross Country.
For the past fifteen years, Dan Baker has been coaching cross country, basketball, and track on a number of levels. In his most recent season as a varsity level basketball coach, Coach Baker's team made an appearance in the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS) 1-A state championship game. Coach Baker is also a USATF level 1 certified track and field coach, and his accompishments in track and field and cross country speak for themselves. Coach Baker has coached district and state-level champions and runners-up on the junior high and high school levels in each of his track and field and cross country seasons at FCS. Coach Baker's true value, however, lies in the fact that his concern is not merely for physical development, but especially for the Christian faith and character of the athletes he trains.
Mr. Tyrone comes to Founders Christian athletics with over 20 years of experience in cross country and track and field and is a USTAF certified cross country coach. He played fullback at Briar Cliff University and a track and field sprinter at Indiana State University. He enjoys coaching because he likes helping his athletes learn how to work through the pain as a tool to achieve success, and accomplish their goals. His desire is to use his gifts as a ministry to the athletes he coaches.
